The Home Recording Studio Page
| |
If you're in a band, or if you make music, then you need to record it. Some can afford to go to big corporate studios, but most independants today record in smaller project studios. This page is dedicated to anyone interested in home recording, and I mean all home recording. Do your own CD in your own home studio.... |

Some of my favourite recording stuff
| |
Fave No. 1 - A Mac. I use a PowerPC 8600/300 with 96 megs of ram. There's lots of great software out there & I probably got most of the main ones for studio work. PC's are OK too, but after years of messing with them, I got a Mac because I want to use the computer as a tool, not as a learning experience. Besides the Mac platform is more what I like, so Windows can keep evolving & I don't have to worry about it. | Fave No. 2 - Analog Tape. Digital is almost an essential part of recording now, but a well maintained analog machine is really good for recording certain things. I still use a Fostex E-16, but it is in great shape, & sounds really good. Fave No. 3 - Soundcraft boards. They have a certain sweetness to them that say, a Mackie, doesn't seem to have. Fave No. 4 - Hard disk recorders. How about hard disk recorders SCSI'd to the Mac with editing software galore. Fave No. 5 - The Internet. This is where you can get ideas, samples, software, support, & tons of opinions...
